Discovery Communications CFO to Depart Next March
The cable network group said in a regulatory filing that Bradley Singer has notified it that he plans to step down at the end of the first quarter of 2012.
NEW YORK - Discovery Communications said in a regulatory filing late Tuesday that Bradley Singer will leave his CFO and treasurer posts next year.
He notified Discovery Tuesday "that he intends to resign from his position, effective March 31, 2012," the cable network company said in the filing without providing further details.
A source said that Singer's contract was up, and it required him to give at least six months notice in case of his departure. According to an older filing, he had started in mid-2008 and had an automatic renewal option for another three-year term "subject to termination by either party prior to the commencement of an extension period."
Singer had joined Discovery Communications in mid-2008 from wireless and broadcast tower provider American Tower Corp. Before that, he was an investment banker with Goldman, Sachs where he focused on the telecommunications, media and entertainment industries.
Discovery Communications is expected to look for a successor internally and externally. A spokeswoman declined comment.
