Discovery didn't film hostage crisis

Spokesman: 'We're not a news organization'

Discovery Communications didn't document the hostage crisis at its headquarters building earlier this week. Some observers had wondered if the cable network company may have footage for a possible TV documentary or other project about the events.

"[Documenting it] never even crossed our minds," spokesman David Leavy told the New York Post. "The priority was just to get everybody out."

Leavy added: "We're not a news organization. Frankly, it never even came up."

The Post suggested the hostage situation could have been turned into "a documentary on ID, a feature on the Military Channel, or even a study of suicide nuts on Discovery Health."
