Disney-ABC re-ups with Studio 23


SINGAPORE -- Disney-ABC International Television (Asia Pacific) has renewed a multiyear, multigenre agreement with ABS-CBN Broadcasting Corp.'s youth channel Studio 23 in the Philippines, Disney-ABC said Wednesday.

The number of hours involved in the Studio 23 contract was not available and financial details were not disclosed, but the deal covers the Philippines debut of "Ugly Betty" and "Brothers & Sisters."

The deal also includes such series and movies as "Desperate Housewives," "Grey's Anatomy," "High School Musical" and "Cheetah Girls."

Current and library features from Walt Disney Pictures, Touchstone Pictures and Miramax Films include "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest," "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe" and Nicolas Cage starrer "National Treasure."

This is the second volume deal for Asia in as many days. The first was with Singapore's dominant free-TV broadcaster, MediaCorp. TV.
