Disney ups Ernest to top Asia parks post

HONG KONG -- Walt Disney Parks & Resorts has appointed Bill Ernest president and managing director Asia, the company said Wednesday.

Ernest came to Asia in 2003 to oversee the theme park's opening as managing director operations. He was named executive vp and managing director of Hong Kong Disneyland in 2006. That post will be taken up by Dave Vermeulen, formerly vp resort operations of HKDL.
