Disney World raising admission prices

Last increase for tickets took place in August

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. -- Walt Disney World is raising the ticket prices for its theme parks for the second time in a year.

The Orlando Sentinel reported Friday that the base price of a one-day, one-park adult ticket will increase from $75 to $79. The same ticket for a child between the ages of 3 and 9 will go from $63 to $68. Prices for the resort's multiday ticket packages also will rise. The new prices will go into effect Sunday.

Disney last raised its admission prices in August.

The ticket increases come a day after the Walt Disney Co. announced its third-quarter profit dropped 26%, as slower DVD sales pushed its movie studio into the red.
