Disney, YFE mend fences, ink deal

MUNICH -- The Walt Disney Co. (Germany) has inked a six-year first-look agreement with Your Family Entertainment AG, the Munich-based children's television division of German children's books and games publisher Ravensburger, YFE said Monday.

Disney also has agreed to settle a "commercial dispute" with YFE and its wholly owned subsidiary Your Worldwide Licensing GmbH for €1 million ($1.3 million), according to the statement. A YFE spokeswoman refused comment on either the nature of the dispute or the specifics of the first-look deal.

YFE, which was called RTV until July 2006 when it moved its headquarters from Ravensburg to Munich, owns such animated series as "Hugo the Jungle Animal" and "Anatole" as well as live-action teen detective series including "The Hardy Boys" and the "Enid Blyton" franchise.
