'Disturb' takes early checkout

Fox has yanked the Wednesday night comedy "Do Not Disturb" off its schedule after three episodes, leaving the series poised for cancellation.

The network will fill the hour next week with a second episode of " 'Til Death," whose most recent episode rated only slightly better than "Disturb." A Fox rep insisted Thursday that "Disturb" was not officially canceled. If Fox lowers the ax, "Disturb" will be the first show canceled of the fall season.

"Disturb" had 3.5 million viewers Wednesday, with a 1.3 rating and 3 share. "Death" had 4.6 million viewers and a 1.4 rating among adults 18-49 and a 4 share. Both are produced by 20th TV. (partialdiff)
