Dominic Treadwell-Collins joins Lovely Day
Veteran BBC soap exec to head developmentLONDON -- Just a month after launching his new British indie production company Lovely Day under the Kudos Film and TV umbrella, Diederick Santer has wooed longtime BBC soap executive and former colleague Dominic Treadwell-Collins to be his new head of development.
Treadwell-Collins -- currently series story producer at the BBC's flagship soap "EastEnders" -- will take up his new role at Lovely Day in July, with responsibility for launching a new portfolio of innovative drama formats funded by U.K. and international partners.
He will report to Santer and be based out of Kudos' London offices, targeting U.K. broadcasters with popular TV drama.
"I've had a fantastic four-and-a-half years at 'EastEnders' and, under Diederick's leadership, we've created some hard-hitting and award-winning storylines." said Treadwell-Collins.
Lovely Day, which launched in May, is managed, owned and operated independently by Santer, but piggybacks on the Shine Prods-owned Kudos, having full access to Kudos' creative expertise, production and legal affairs team under a deal struck with Elisabeth Murdoch's company earlier this year.
