The talent agency is marking its 40th year with new office space in Los Angeles.

Don Buchwald & Associates is now doing business as Buchwald.

The official name change is just one of the moves the talent agency has made as it hits the four-decade mark. "We looked at the landscape and what we needed in order to stand out more," West Coast president Julia Buchwald tells The Hollywood Reporter. "Being that we just hit 40 years, let's make a couple moves to change perception."

In addition to the more streamlined name, Buchwald relocated its Los Angeles office last fall, from the 22nd floor of 6500 Wilshire Blvd. to the 31st floor penthouse of the SBE building at 5900 Wilshire. The move doubled the amount of office space from 7,500 to 15,000 square feet — "enough room to grow," Buchwald says, adding that the new space "feels extremely collaborative, where people can just walk around with a lot of open-space areas and a real communal feeling."

The L.A. office, which currently has about 30 to 40 staff members — including relatively recent agent hires Rick Ferrari (who serves as head of commercial and branding on the West Coast), Justin Deanda and Bradley Glenn — also features audio and video recording booths as well as a screening room, which Buchwald says is unusual for agencies of its size.

The entire company has a total staff of 100, the majority of which are based out of its New York headquarters with founder Don Buchwald (father of Julia). It is the only talent agency that owns its entire office building in New York — 10 East 44th Street in midtown Manhattan, an eight-story townhouse that redesigned its main floor a couple of years ago into a gallery for hosting symposiums and other events.

Says Julia Buchwald, "We want [our office space] to feel creative, inspired and forward-moving, like we're all in it together."
