Donald Trump Live-Tweets the Democratic Debate: "No Star on Stage"

Donald Trump

"All are very scripted and rehearsed, two (at least) should not be on the stage," the billionaire businessman tweeted.

Twitter users anticipating Donald Trump to absolutely tear into the five candidates during the Democratic primary presidential debate Tuesday night were sorely disappointed.

The GOP White House frontrunner did live-tweet the event, as he said he would earlier in the day, but more than speak his mind, he re-tweeted others talking poorly about the debate and the candidates.

That is not to say Trump didn't throw a few punches, but they were mostly jabs from the billionaire businessman who is known for not holding back. Some of his tweets included, "Can anyone imagine Chafee as president? No way." and "Sorry, there is no STAR on the stage tonight!"

Trump said he was live tweeting the event at the "request of many."

On Monday, the former Apprentice host made it clear during a phone interview on Fox and Friends that he believed without his presence, the debate would be a total flop.

"I don't want to say this in a braggadocious way, but a person at CNN and a couple of other people said, 'We have to put Donald Trump in this debate. We're going to die with it,'" Trump said Monday.

For the debate, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton was center stage with Bernie Sanders, Martin O'Malley, Jim Webb and Lincoln Chafee to her sides.
