Donald Trump Continues to Go After Fox News, Megyn Kelly on Twitter
"I refuse to call Megyn Kelly a bimbo, because that would not be politically correct. Instead I will only call her a lightweight reporter!"
Donald Trump continued to attack Fox News' Megyn Kelly on Twitter the morning after announcing he would not take part in the network's GOP presidential candidate debate on Thursday.
In an early Wednesday morning tweet, the Republican frontrunner said he would not refer to Kelly as a "bimbo" because the derogatory term is not "politically correct," but he did say The Kelly File host was a "lightweight reporter."

In addition to that slight, the billionaire businessman again blasted Fox News for the statement it released on Tuesday that mocked the real estate mogul turned presidential candidate. Trump, who has repeatedly criticized debate co-moderator Kelly, claims she is biased toward him.
The statement put out yesterday by @FoxNews was a disgrace to good broadcasting and journalism. Who would ever say something so nasty & dumb— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) January 27, 2016
Fox News said in a second statement late Tuesday that Trump was still welcome to be a part of the debate, but the network would not bow to his "terrorizations."
In the same statement, the network also accused Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski of making "threats" toward Kelly.
"In a call on Saturday with a Fox News executive, Lewandowski stated that Megyn had a ‘rough couple of days after that last debate’ and he ‘would hate to have her go through that again,’" the network said. "Lewandowski was warned not to level any more threats, but he continued to do so. We can’t give in to terrorizations toward any of our employees."
A spokeswoman for the Trump campaign did not return a request for comment on those accusations.
