Donald Trump is proving hard to dump. The outspoken billionaire has hung on to his job as a Macy's spokesman to the chagrin of Democratic activist Angelo Carusone, who has gathered more than 650,000 signatures with calling for Trump's ouster.

Donald Trump offered words of encouragement to the star, whose twerk-heavy MTV Video Music Awards performance sparked dramatic reactions.

"Miley, don't let them get you down. They're all jealous," Trump says in a Vine posted Thursday.  According to the post, Cyrus is staying at one of Trump's hotels.

Cyrus' VMA performance of "We Can't Stop" – featuring dancing bears – eventually introduced Robin Thicke and his "Blurred Lines" and "Give It 2 U," into the mix. But the 20-year-old star's antics stole the show and earned mockery in some corners and condemnation in others.
