Donald Trump Thanks the Wrong Scott Walker After GOP Convention Speech
Local news anchor Scott Walker sees his Twitter activity spike after the mistake Wednesday.
Gov. Scott Walker delivered a rousing speech at the Republican National Convention on Wednesday with his "America deserves better" theme. But when Donald Trump went to congratulate him on his speech, he included the wrong Scott Walker in his tweet, leading to a case of mistaken identities for one local news anchor.
Trump tweeted "Thank you Governor @ScottWalker6! #AmericaFirst," but the governor's correct Twitter handle is @ScottWalker.
The error led to several Trump fans/critics to share their thoughts with @ScottWalker6, a news anchor for WDSU in New Orleans. While people called the governor's speech "garbage" and called him a liar, the anchor responded to his haters, even eventually using the mix-up to his advantage and promoting WDSU: "Make news great again!"
