Donald Zuckerman appointed Colorado Office Of Film, Television and Media director

Zuckerman replaces Kevin Shand, who resigned in February.

Hollywood producer Donald Zuckerman was appointed director of the Colorado Office Of Film, Television and Media by the state’s governor John Hickenlooper.

The most recent film commissioner, Kevin Shand, resigned the post in February after two years. He had worked with the Colorado Film Commission since 2005.

Shand was known to be frustrated with the progress made on state film incentives. Zuckerman will be in a prime position to make progress on this issue due to his ties to Hollywood.  He will report to Elaine Mariner, director of Colorado Creative Industries.

Zuckerman has worked as a producer since 1995. His most recent feature was 2010’s Casino Jack, which marked his sixth collaboration with late director George Hickenlooper, a cousin of the Colorado governor.
