'Don't Fade Away' big at Euro Film Market

Mischa Barton, Ryan Kwanten star in drama

More Berlinale coverage

BERLIN -- "Don't Fade Away" is materializing deals for New Films International.

The drama, which stars Mischa Barton and Ryan Kwanten, has proven a strong seller for the company, which sold the movie to Falcon Films for Lebanon. Also sold was the werewolf movie "Dark Moon Rising."

"Fade" also was part of a two-title, all-rights deal the company signed with Kanal D/D Prods. in Turkey. "Multiple Sarcasms," with Timothy Hutton, Dana Delany and Mira Sorvino, was the second title.

The deals cap off a successful festival for New Films, which recently extended their output deal with MGM for all TV rights in all of Latin America for 3 more years.

New Films also recently signed a deal with Nordisk Film for all TV rights in Scandinavia, and with Nordisk Trading Co. for all video rights. Each deal included 40-plus titles, including "Fade," "Sarcasms" and such titles sch as "The Alphabet Killer" starring Eliza Dushku. The company signed a similar deal with BBI for Benelux.
