'The Double' attracts Martin Sheen

Actor to play CIA director in spy thriller

Martin Sheen is joining the cast of Michael Brandt's spy thriller "The Double," which also stars Richard Gere and Topher Grace.

He'll play the director of the CIA in the Hyde Park/Imagenation production, which begins filming Monday in Detroit.

The cast also includes Stephen Moyer, Stana Katic, and Odette Yustman in an original script by Brandt and his writing partner Derek Haas.
Hyde Park's Ashok Amritraj and Patrick Aiello are producing along with Haas and Industry Entertainment's Andrew Deane.  Imagenation chairman Mohamed Khalaf Al-Mazrouei and CEO Edward Borgerding will serve as exec producers along with COO Stefan Brunner, who will be an associate producer.  Aiello, who brought the project to Hyde Park, will shepherd production.
Hyde Park International, headed by president Mimi Steinbauer, is representing worldwide rights for the film.
