'Downton Abbey' Star Elizabeth McGovern Joins 'Woman in Gold' Cast

Jonathan Pryce and Game of Thrones actor Charles Dance also join the ensemble cast of the new drama from “My Week With Marilyn” director Simon Curtis.

British actors Elizabeth McGovern, of Downton Abbey, and veteran Jonathan Pryce (Pirates of the Caribbean) have joined the ensemble cast of Woman in Gold, the upcoming feature from My Week With Marilyn director Simon Curtis.

The drama, based on the true story of a Holocaust survivor who sets out to recover her family's artworks that were stolen by the Nazis, began principle photography in London last week. Helen Mirren, Ryan Reynolds, Katie Holmes, Daniel Bruhl and Tatiana Maslany also star.

Also new to the Woman in Gold cast are British actors Charles Dance, of Game of Thrones, and Max Irons and German actors Moritz Bleibtreu and Antje Traue.

David Thompson is producing Woman in Gold for Origin with Kris Thykier. Harvey and Bob Weinstein are exec producers though The Weinstein Company. BBC Films’ Christine Langan is also executive producing.

TWC is handling U.S. distribution and international sales on the film.
