DQE, Method, ZDF pact for 3D 'Peter Pan'

CGI TV series ready for broadcast in 2012

NEW DELHI -- DQ Entertainment announced a co-production agreement for a 3-D stereoscopic CGI TV series “The New Adventures of Peter Pan” with France's Method Animation and Germany's ZDF Group.

A joint announcement at MIPCOM stated that the series was budgeted at about €10 million ($13.7 million) and will be ready for broadcast by early 2012.

ZDF will also have distribution rights across German territories, U.K., Ireland, South Africa and Latin America while France Televisions will handle French broadcasting rights in association with Method.

The series is set in the magical world of Neverland interspersed with 21st century London as Peter Pan battles his nemesis Captain Hook.

Other partners on the series include Italy's De Agostini and Turkey's ATV who will hold broadcasting rights in their respective countries.
