'Dragon Tattoo' Star Noomi Rapace Topless, Killing Zombies in Rolling Stones Music Video
In the band's edgy new video for "Doom and Gloom," the actress appears in several guises, including a female Jagger, a zombie killer, a binge eater and a pink-haired prostitute.
Noomi Rapace, the star of the original Swedish version of The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, has a new role. Make that several.
The actress and fashion designer darling appears topless and bloody in the Rolling Stones' video reelased Wednesday for their new single "Doom and Gloom."
She has other disturbing guises in the video, including an overeater whose head explodes from junk food; a female version of Mick Jagger, strutting onstage with the band; a homeless person; a Spanish drug dealer; an airline stewardess; and a pink-haired bare-breasted prostitute turning tricks (or trying to) on the street. She also rolls in money and kills the undead, in keeping with the "bath salts" zombie apocalypse fears of our modern times.
None of it makes much sense, but the images are unsettling and certainly communicate the song's title.
It’s a risque move, but that’s pretty typical of the half-Spanish, half-Swedish actress who used her old punk-perioid piercings to play Lisbeth Salander. Since then she has starred in Ridley Scott’s Prometheus, in which she cut an alien out of her stomach by herself.
Rapace, who is rumored to be reprising her role in Prometheus 2, did her own stunts in Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows and a movie called Passion, also starring Rachel McAdams.
She has said, "I’m more interested in people’s darker side, the ones that aren’t easy and well balanced. The cracks.”
As well as being a risk-taking actress, Rapace has been dressed to thrill by a roster of impressive designers such as Karl Lagerfeld for Chanel, Valentino, Emilio Pucci, Carolina Herrera, Giambattista Valli, Givenchy, Alexander McQueen, Elie Saab and Balmain.
Someone needs to snatch this girl up for a cutting-edge fashion or beauty campaign.
