Billboard Music Awards: Drake Performs "Gyalchester" Inside Bellagio Fountains

The winner of 12 Billboard awards took to the infamous Sin City landmark to perform his hit song, "Gyalchester."

Drake performed his new song "Gyalchester" on Sunday night at the Billboard Music Awards in the middle of the famed Bellagio Fountain in Las Vegas.

Blasts of fire and water emerged around the rapper, with fireworks going off in the background in unison with the rhythm of the beat.

On the eve of the award show, fan cameras caught the Canadian artist rehearsing his hit song from his playlist More Life, in the middle of the infamous Sin City landmark.

Earlier in the week, Mark Bracco, executive producer for the BBMAs, teased the performance while informing Billboard that Drake's rare award show appearance will be a "real event."

"We were talking with Drake's people for months about doing the show. Obviously he then became the biggest nominee and that's a big deal and just trying to come up with something really different and unique and exciting and spectacular.... And that's what Drake deserves is a big, huge moment and, luckily, in working with his team I think we've come up with something creatively that's going to be really astounding," Bracco told Billboard.

The Grammy winner tied with The Chainsmokers for this year's record for the most Billboard Music Award nominations in one year, with 22, and by the time he took the stage was the proud owner of 12 of the awards — one for top male artist — with a few more awards to be handed out.

Drake's 12 Billboard statues has him leaving the T-Mobile Arena tied with Adele for the title of artist with the most wins in a single night so far.

"Gyalchester" is just one of the many Billboard hits from Drake's latest project, which hit No.1 for three weeks on the Billboard 200 chart.

The rapper has been nominated for a total of 33 Billboard Awards, winning one last year for best rap artist.

The Billboard Music Awards are live at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT Sunday on ABC from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Vanessa Hudgens and Ludacris are hosting. Keep up with all the latest news here.
