DVR data boosts 'V' premiere ratings

Final audience tally of 16.7 million for ABC series' debut

The premiere of ABC's "V" was even bigger.

The alien drama was the biggest gainer among all freshman series in its first week.

Based on Nielsen's Live + 7 ratings that incorporate DVR viewing up to seven days after a show's original airing, "V" added 2.4 million more viewers for a final audience of 16.7 million viewers and a 6.2 rating among adults 18-49.

"V," which kicks off with a four-episode November run before going on hiatus until spring, already nabbed the honors for the highest-rated freshman series premiere this fall based on the Live + Same Day ratings for the show's Nov. 3 debut: 14.3 million viewers and a 5.2 rating in 18-49.

Its ratings have been sliding down since.
