DW, Nick in Gershons' 'Camp'

DreamWorks and Nick Movies are in final negotiations to acquire the rights to "Camp Creepy Time," a children's book by actress Gina Gershon and her brother Dann Gershon. Richard LaGravenese is in final negotiations to write the adaptation, which he also might direct.

The story centers on an eccentric 13-year-old boy who must rescue fellow campers when he learns that aliens comprise the camp staff.

LaGravenese, repped by CAA, is well known in book-to-film circles for his screenplays for such films as "The Bridges of Madison County" and "The Horse Whisperer." He is directing "P.S. I Love You," an adaptation of a Cecelia Ahern novel for which he also wrote the script.

Putnam Juvenile is slated to release the book in the spring.

Gina Gershon is best known for her sultry turns on the screen in such films as "Bound" and "Showgirls." Dann Gershon is the author of the children's book series "Hangin' With the Hombeez," which encourage kids to read.

CAA repped the Gershons in the book deal. Gina Gershon continues to be repped by Paradigm and Untitled.
