Dygra Films signs on for 3D 'Holy Night'

Billy Frolick will pen English version of holiday pic

MADRID -- Spanish production house Dygra Films has signed "Madagascar" screenwriter Billy Frolick for the English-language version of its Christmas-themed digital 3D pic "Holy Night."

International buyers will get the first glimpse of the unfinished Spanish production today at a digital 3D screening at the European Film Market.

Guillermo del Toro's co-scripters on "The Devil's Backbone," David Munoz and Antonio Trashorras, also will participate in the English version of "Holy Night," set for release in December.

"We have a great story and we're happy with the script," Dygra chief Manolo Gomez said. "We're thrilled to work with people with so much talent."

"Digital 3D is a huge attraction for audiences and an important plus in terms of revenue," Gomez said. "We put technology at the service of narration. The film was developed from the beginning in digital 3D."

The story involves two opposing sets of toys, representing two different traditions, on Christmas Eve.
