E! keeps 'Kardashians' for third season

Network orders 10 episodes, sets debut for first quarter

E! Entertainment Television has picked up "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" for a third season.

The reality series, from Ryan Seacrest Prods. and Bunim-Murray, follows the lives of Los Angeles socialite Kim Kardashian and her siblings along with mom Kris and stepfather Bruce Jenner. E! has ordered 10 episodes for Season 3, which will debut in the first quarter.

"There is never a shortage on drama, and we are certain the new season will be another wild ride," said Lisa Berger, E! executive vp original programming and series development.

Season 2 of "Kardashians" showed growth over the first cycle, averaging 1.6 million total viewers per episode, a 36% improvement over Season 1.

The series was created by Seacrest and Eliot Goldberg, who executive produce for RSP. Jon Murray and Jeff Jenkins executive produce for Bunim-Murray.
