E3 2012: Leonard Nimoy Leads Hollywood Cast for 'Kingdom Hearts' 3D Game (Video)

Square Enix continues to work with Hollywood talent to breathe life into game franchise that marries Disney movie worlds with Final Fantasy game franchise.

Square Enix continues to work with Hollywood talent in bringing the unique blending of Walt Disney Studios movie worlds and characters with the bestselling Final Fantasy game franchise. Kingdom Hearts 3D [Dream Drop Distance] for Nintendo 3DS will feature voice acting from Leonard Nimoy (Star Trek), Haley Joel Osment (The Sixth Sense), David Gallagher (“Covert Affairs”, Hayden Panetierre (“Heroes”), singer Jesse McCartney and Quinton Flynn (“Robot Chicken”). The game will be on display at E3 2012.

Osment returns to play Sora, the main protagonist in the Kingdom Hearts franchise, working to complete the Mark of Mastery exam and become a true Keyblade Master. Gallagher joins the cast again as Riku, who is struggling to become a true Keyblade Master alongside his best friend, Sora.Nimoy’s Master Xehanort reprises his role as the main antagonist of the game franchise.

Panetierre returns to voice Xion, the 14th member of Organization XIII, an organization that stands against Sora and his friends. Recording artist McCartney once again plays the duel hero roles of  Roxas and Ventus. Flynn returns as Axel / Lea, another member of Organization XIII. 

Dream Drop Distance is a continuation of the events shown in the epilogue of Kingdom Hearts Re:coded. Players will explore seven sleeping worlds, including Disney worlds based on movies The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Pinocchio, Fantasia, TRON: Legacy andMickey, Donald, Goofy: The Three Musketeers. Gamers will interact with classic Disney characters from these films throughout the 3D adventure.
