Ed Asner Gets Canadian Sitcom Cameo Role

The veteran actor is to play a psychiatrist's psychiatrist in a Canadian comedy from Rhombus Media.

TORONTO -- Ed Asner is to appear on Michael: Tuesdays & Thursdays, the CBC Fall 2011 comedy now shooting in Ottawa through August.

The veteran actor will play Dr. Wasserman, a psychiatrist to the series' main character, Dr. David Storper, also a psychiatrist, played by Bob Martin.

Asner earlier this month received a lifetime achievement awarda at the Banff World Media Festival.

Michael: Tuesdays & Thursdays, created by Martin, is produced by Rhombus Media’s Niv Fichman and Sari Friedland.

The series also stars Matt Watts, Jennifer Irwin and Pablo Silviera, and is directed by Don McKellar, Alison MacLean and Patricia Rozema.
