Ed Sheeran Joins James Corden's 'Carpool Karaoke' in London
The singer-songwriter hitched a ride with the 'Late Late Show' host to belt out a few of his, and others', hits.
Singer Ed Sheeran joined Late Late Show host James Corden in London on Tuesday night for the latest edition of the host's popular "Carpool Karaoke" segment.
Picking up Sheeran, Corden put on the singer's hit "Shape of You" as the duo cruised the roadways and got a little handsy. "I told you it's a sexy song," the host said as Sheeran reached over and placed his hand on Corden's thigh.
Other songs performed included "Sing" and acoustic versions of "Thinking Out Loud," Justin Bieber's "Love Yourself" and One Direction's "What Makes You Beautiful."
The pair also had a contest to see who could fit the most Maltese chocolates in their mouth, with Sheeran coming out the victor as he managed to cram in 55 of the treats.
Finally, Corden performed a traffic-themed rendition of Sheeran's "Castle on the Hill," joking with the songwriter that it was the perfect song for getting behind the wheel. "Everything about this song is you should be driving," Corden told a smiling Sheeran before belting out reworked lyrics: "I'm on my way, stuck in some traffic on these bad freeways."
Sheeran, however, was unimpressed. "You said 'way' rhyming with 'ways.' There's a lot of work to be done there," the singer said.
"God, you're a tough critic," Corden responded.
Corden, a Brit himself, took his show across the pond to the U.K. following terror attacks the last two weeks, after an Ariana Grande concert in Manchester and near the London Bridge on Saturday. His show will remain in London throughout the week.
