Eddie Redmayne Joins Voice Cast on 'Thomas the Tank Engine' Film
The newly minted Oscar-winner has lent his voice to animated adventure 'Sodor's Legend of the Lost Treasure.'
After already picked up an Oscar for his portrayal of an ALS-suffering scientist and currently filming his turn as a transgender artist, Eddie Redmayne will be making perhaps his most striking onscreen transformation.
The British actor has lent his voice to the upcoming animated film based on the popular Thomas the Tank Engine U.K. children's TV series, the straight-to-DVD film Sodor's Legend of the Lost Treasure.
"I grew up loving to watch Thomas and his pals getting caught up in the unexpected and mischievous adventure. I jumped at the opportunity to get involved, and what fun it was," Redmayne said in a statement.
"I have never voiced an animated character before, and I had a complete blast."
Redmayne is voicing a train called Ryan in the hourlong film, which is set to be released on DVD and VOD in September and also features the voices of John Hurt and Jamie Campbell Bower.
