Edie Wasserman Memorial Announced

The tribute will take place Oct. 14 at UCLA's Royce Hall.

The Wasserman family has announced that the memorial for Edie Wasserman, who died Aug. 18 at 95, will be at 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 14 at UCLA’s Royce Hall. The event will be open to the public. The only request is that there be no cameras or videos.

Wasserman, a noted philanthropist, patron of education and the arts, was for decades seen as the “first lady” of Hollywood. She was best known for her work with the Motion Picture & Television Fund.

Her husband, Lew, had been the longtime chairman of Universal. He died in 2002. They were married for over 65 years.
