Edinburgh to celebrate Sean Connery's 80th

Film Festival to host special gala night, screening

LONDON -- Sean Connery, a patron of the Edinburgh International Film Festival (EIFF) since 1992, will be crowned king again with the Scottish capital shindig throwing a special gala night to celebrate the actor's 80th year.

Organizers said Wednesday they plan to unspool John Huston's "The Man Who Would Be King," at the new Edinburgh Festival Theater venue to celebrate Connery's commitment to the event and his birthday in August.

Organizers are also trumpeting the arrival of the Bank of Scotland as a fresh sponsor for the festival and the gala screening for Connery.
