Edinburgh launches screenwriters' program
Jane Campion, Mike Leigh, John Madden among participantsLONDON -- Filmmakers Jane Campion, Mike Leigh and John Madden have signed up to lead master classes for the newly established screenwriters' program The Story Works during this year's Edinburgh International Film Festival.
Also in line to participate in the Festival's latest endeavor to push screenwriting to the forefront are Ronald Harwood ("The Pianist"), Kenneth Lonergan ("Analyze This"), Mogens Rukov ("Festen") and DV DeVincentis ("Grosse Point Blank").
The screenwriters' initiative is run by story editor Kate Leys with the EIFF and producers Finola Dwyer and Amanda Posey.
It is a program for ten experienced British screenwriters, which will run for a year with the residential week of master classes in Edinburgh beginning just before the start of the 64th EIFF with backing from Skillset and Scottish Screen.
