EFA to honor French actress Isabelle Huppert

At 22nd European Film Awards in Germany on Dec. 12

COLOGNE, Germany -- French actress Isabelle Huppert will add another trophy to her packed mantelpiece when the European Film Academy honors her with the 2009 European Achievement in World Cinema award.

Arguably France's most acclaimed actress, Huppert, 56, has won virtually every prize out there -- including a BAFTA, a Cesar, two Cannes best actress awards, two Volpi Cups in Venice, a Berlinale Silver Bear and two European Film Awards.

She has worked with many of the giants of international art house cinema, including Jean-Luc Godard, Andrzej Wajda, Michael Cimino, Bertrand Tavernier, Michael Haneke, Francois Ozon and, of course, Claude Chabrol, with whom she has made eight films.

Huppert will receive her lifetime achievement award at the 22nd European Film Awards in Bochum, Germany on Dec. 12.
