'Einstein,' 'Anna' set for fiction fest

RomaFictionFest will screen 200-plus titles

ROME -- The premiere of RAI Fiction's "Einstein" from Liliana Cavani and Monica Vullo's "Anna e i Cinque" (Anna and the Five) will be among the Italian highlights of the second edition of the RomaFictionFest, the event's organizers said Wednesday.

The July 7-12 event will feature more than 200 titles, adding up to 350 hours of programming split between the Auditorium della Conciliazione in the shadow of Vatican City and the nearby Adriano cinemas.

The festival features fiction programming for television, whether in the form of television films, miniseries or full series. This year's edition also will include some documentaries and docudramas. Other new sections include "Noon and Night" for horror and thriller programming and "Works in Progress" for programs in production.

International fare at the festival includes the first Italian glimpse of "Terminator" spinoff "The Sarah Connor Chronicles," "Tell Me You Love Me," a series that looks into couples' relationships with psychoanalysis and "In Treatment," a series from Rodrigo Garcia, son of Nobel Prize winner Gabriel Garcia Marquez, in which the protagonist, an analyst, meets a new patient in each episode.

The RomaFictionFest will announce its full lineup this month.
