Electus picks up rights to 'Hiccups'

CTV sitcom centers on children's author with anger issues

TORONTO -- Ben Silvermans production and distribution outfit Electus Distribution has picked up the international sales rights to the Canadian comedy "Hiccups."
Electus snagged the rights to the first season of the CTV sitcom about a children's book author with anger management issues and other emotional hiccups through a sub-distribution deal with Thunderbird Films.
"Hiccups," Canada's top-rated homegrown comedy last year, stars Nancy Robertson as the dysfunctional book author receiving treatment from a less-than-skillful life coach, played by Brent Butt.
Butt created and is executive producing the Canadian comedy through his production shingle, Sparrow Media Company.
Production on a second season of "Hiccups" is now underway in Vancouver, through to the end of the year.
