Electus Taps ABC Vet Corie Henson to Lead Unscripted

The former VP of alternative series will serve as executive vp of reality efforts at the entertainment studio.

Electus has named a new executive vp of unscripted television. The multimedia entertainment studio announced Tuesday the hiring of ABC vet Corie Henson.

Henson, who previously oversaw production on Dancing With the Stars and Shark Tank as vp of alternative series at ABC Entertainment, will lead reality efforts for the IAC-owned company and report directly to ceo Chris Grant.

"Corie is that rare executive who blends creative talent, managerial prowess and sales experience with deep experience in the world of physical production," said Grant. "Her contributions and perspective will be vital to Electus as we continue to build upon our slate of unscripted programming."

The incoming exec, who will begin later in September, will oversee all of Electus' unscripted portfolio, which currently includes Get Out Alive With Bear Grylls (NBC), Dog and Beth (CMT), The Hero (TNT) and the upcoming NBC effort Food Fighters.

“Electus is a truly exciting and innovative company that is changing the way we package, present and subsidize content,” said Ms. Henson. “As a producer, and more recently a buyer, I'm thrilled to be joining a team where I can learn and grow with one of the most creative and prolific sales teams in the business.”

Henson also served as ep of the Critics Choice Awards and has a lengthy resume overseeing red carpet coverage of the Academy Awards, Grammys, Golden Globes and SAG Awards for E! Entertainment.
