'Elephants' political in Italy, too

Sandro Bondi speaks out against railway docu

ROME -- Italy's Ministry of Culture came out against another film Thursday, blasting a state-funded documentary called "When the Elephants Battle" as too political.

Minister Sandro Bondi, who sparked a controversy this month by criticizing the awarding of state funds to a documentary that screened at the Locarno Film Festival, said the same thing about the newer film -- which examines the lives of railway workers.

Bondi has said the ministry will be more selective in funding controversial projects.
