Elias Koteas And Luke Mably in 'The Hot Zone'

Canadian-U.K. drama for ABC and Global Television starts shooting in Toronto.

TORONTO -- Elias Koteas, Luke Mably, Deborah Kara Unger, Terry Chen (Sanctuary) and Arnold Pinnock are top-lining The Hot Zone for Global Television and ABC stateside, now shooting in Toronto.

The cameras are rolling on 13x one hours of the homegrown medical procedural, formerly called Combat Hospital, until next July. The Canadian-UK co-production portrays doctors and nurses from Canada, the U.S., the U.K. and other allied countries saving lives and limbs in a war zone military hospital modeled on a real faciltity in Afghanistan.

The Hot Zone is produced by Canada’s Sienna Films and British partner Artists Studio. Daniel Petrie Jr. is the executive producer and showrunner. Executive producers are Jennifer Kawaja and Julia Sereny, Gub Neal, Justin Thomson-Glover, Patrick Irwin and Simon Vaughan.

The Hot Zone was created by Jinder Oujla-Chalmers and Douglas Steinberg (Boston Public).

Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions has all media rights outside of North America, with Sony Pictures Television distributing the series internationally.
