Elisabeth Moss Wore the Perfect Shade of Red Lipstick at the Tony Awards
Makeup artist Daniel Martin reveals the stunning color.
Between her vivid flower-covered Oscar de la Renta gown, bright blonde hair and perfect minimalist makeup, Elisabeth Moss looked better than ever at Sunday’s Tony Awards, where she was nominated for best leading actress in a play for her role in The Heidi Chronicles.
When it came to her makeup, the inspiration was La Vie en Rose, according to celebrity makeup artist Daniel Martin, who also works with Jessica Alba, Julianne Moore and Nicole Richie. “Playing off her Oscar de la Renta gown, the deep rose lip adds the finishing touch to the split complementary colors in her dress,” he said of the look.
Martin kept the rest of the Mad Men star’s face clean and simple so that her pout could pop. He made sure Moss’ lips were the star of the show with Rouge Dior Contour Lipliner in Thrilling Plum ($30), followed by Rouge Dior Lipstick in Rose Harpers ($31.50). Talk about must-haves.
