Elisabeth Shue, Rob Morgan Join Tom Hanks' World War II Drama 'Greyhound'

Stephen Graham also stars alongside Hanks, who penned the screenplay for the Aaron Schneider-helmed thriller for Sony Pictures that's now shooting in Louisiana.

Elisabeth Shue, Mudbound star Rob Morgan and Stephen Graham have joined Tom Hanks' World War II thriller Greyhound for Sony Pictures.

The script for the $40 million feature, directed by Aaron Schneider, was written by Hanks and is based on the C.S. Forester novel The Good Shepherd. The Captain Phillips actor will star as Capt. Ernest Krause, who commands U.S. destroyer the Greyhound and crosses the North Atlantic while being pursued by Nazi U-boats.

Hanks and his Playtone partner, Gary Goetzman, are producing. Financing comes from Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions, Bron Creative, Sycamore Pictures and Zhengfu Pictures.

FilmNation Entertainment’s Aaron Ryder, Playtone’s Steven Shareshian and David Coatsworth serve as executive producers.
