The Spacex founder called out diver Vern Unsworth's criticism of his miniature submarine.

Elon Musk responded to criticism from a British diver who helped rescue a group of Thai schoolboys trapped in a cave by calling the man "pedo guy" on Twitter.

Diver Vern Unsworth called the Spacex and Tesla founder's plans to rescue the boys with a miniature submarine a "PR stunt" and told Musk to “stick his submarine where it hurts.”

Responding to the comments on Twitter, Musk wrote, "Never saw this British expat guy who lives in Thailand (sus) at any point when we were in the caves. Only people in sight were the Thai navy/army guys, who were great. Thai navy seals escorted us in — total opposite of wanting us to leave."

He went on to challenge Unsworth to "show final rescue video" before withdrawing his challenge and stating, "You know what, don’t bother showing the video. We will make one of the mini-sub/pod going all the way to Cave 5 no problemo. Sorry pedo guy, you really did ask for it."

No clarification of what Musk meant by the comment was offered.

Musk himself traveled to Thailand last week to present his submarine to rescue efforts. It was not used, but all 12 of the boys were rescued, along with their soccer coach, from the caves, due in large part by efforts by Thai navy SEALs.
