Elton John Biopic 'Rocketman' to Get Advance Screenings From Fandango

The Taron Egerton-starrer will screen in 400 theaters on May 18, just after a Cannes bow and well before Paramount Pictures' May 31 theatrical release.

Fandango is teaming with Paramount Pictures to offer exclusive advance screenings on May 18 for Rocketman, the Elton John biopic that stars Taron Egerton as the iconic British singer-songwriter.

The first-look viewings come two weeks before the May 31 U.S. theatrical release for Rocketman, and two days after its premiere at the Cannes Film Festival. Fandango VIP rewards program members will get an exclusive sneak peek at Rocketman at nearly 400 theaters nationwide via cinema chains like AMC Theatres, Regal, Cinemark, Marcus Theatres, Arclight Cinemas/Pacific Theatres and National Amusements.

Tickets for Fandango's exclusive engagement via its Early Access Screening program are on sale now.

"Our first two early access screenings generated great buzz for How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World and Shazam! We think Fandango VIP members and fans will be delighted to have the opportunity to see this highly-anticipated Elton John musical fantasy two weeks before its release date," Fandango president Paul Yanover said Thursday in a statement.

Directed by Dexter Fletcher and written by Lee Hall, Rocketman, which also stars Jamie Bell, Richard Madden and Bryce Dallas Howard, follows John's personal and professional trajectory, beginning with his days at the Royal Academy of Music through his musical partnership with lyricist Bernie Taupin.
