Former EMI Executive to Run Expanded Music Business for Germany's RTL

Uli Mucke will head up new record label Music for Millions.

COLOGNE, Germany -- Germany's leading commercial broadcast group, RTL Deutschland, is expanding its music rights business with the launch of a new label, Music for Millions, and increasing its licensing and live events operations.

Uli Mucke, a former vp new music for EMI for Germany, Switzerland and Austria, will head up the label and coordinate licensing activities together with Rainer Noseck, a former manager at reality TV production company Norddeich TV.

RTL is already a major music producer and promoter, with spinoff releases from acts on its hit talent shows, including the German version of American Idol, X Factor and Germany's Got Talent. RTL also runs its own ticketing company, RTL Tickets, and an online music channel.

The company's music business is part of its interactive division, run by Marc Schroder, which handles all music licensing activity for RTL Deutschland TV channels RTL, Vox, n-TV and RTL Nitro.
