The 'Sicario' actress celebrated her recent U.S. citizenship with a fright.

U.S. citizenship is scary sometimes.

Emily Blunt, who recently became an American citizen, celebrated her newfound status while on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

"I know more about the constitution and government than most American citizens," said the Sicario actress in a segment that aired Monday regarding the challenging citizenship test.

Blunt then donned a Statue of Liberty costume to sing a few bars of "Yankee Doodle" before getting a scare from Uncle Sam.

While promoting Sicario at the Toronto Film Festival, Blunt told The Hollywood Reporter when asked about Donald Trump, "I became an American citizen recently, and that night, we watched the Republican debate, and I thought, 'This was a terrible mistake. What have I done?' "
