Emma Stone Is Ready for Desert Trip in New Louis Vuitton Video (Exclusive)
The Oscar winner hits the California highway in her first campaign for the brand.
If the Oscars taught us anything, it's that Emma Stone knows how to serve up shade. That being said, her first campaign since joining the house of Louis Vuitton as an ambassador last October is noticeably devoid of shade — in both literal and metaphorical senses.
Shot just northeast of La La Land in the bright and barren California desert, the campaign video sees the Oscar-winning redhead frolicking in the dry and dusty terrain in fashions from creative director Nicolas Ghesquiere's spring 2018 collection. In billowy, printed frocks and boots, Stone looks ready for Desert Trip, Coachella's older, more mature cousin. Or dad. (The music festival is referred to as "Oldchella," if that gives you an idea.)
The location is a preferred hotspot of Ghesquiere, who hosted his 2016 cruise show at Bob Hope's former estate in Palm Springs back in 2015 and often notes his love of the sci-fi look of the area.
The Battle of the Sexes star is also seen traversing the desert landscape in a vintage convertible — the preferred method of transportation for the California highway, as anyone who's ever seen an L.A. road-trip movie will tell you — with the house's Capucines bag sitting shotgun.
"I am very happy and proud to be working with a house as passionate as Louis Vuitton, as well as with the unique style and creations of Nicolas Ghesquiere," remarked Stone in a release.
