Emmanuelle Namiech exiting ITV

Richard Life takes over as head of acquisitions, co-prod'n

LONDON -- ITV director of acquisitions and co-productions Emmanuelle Namiech is stepping down from the post after more than 10 years at ITV, managing director of ITV Studios Lee Bartlett said Tuesday.

Namiech will step down from her role in December "to pursue new opportunities" after representing ITV to develop a range of scripted and nonscripted content and building relationships with independent producers over the past decade.

She will be replaced by her deputy, Richard Life, who takes the newly created role of head of acquisitions and co-productions at ITV Studios Global Entertainment.

Life will lead the acquisition and co-production team responsible for sourcing, developing, managing and funding content for the international division.

Recent projects he has acquired include "River Monsters" (Icon Films), the BBC comedy series "Miranda" and the co-funding of Shaftesbury Films' Canadian drama Murdoch Mysteries.

"Richard brings more than 20 years of TV experience to his team and has been key to expanding our pool of key suppliers and bringing innovative and fresh content for our in-house sales team to distribute," said Bartlett, who also paid tribute to Namiech's tenure.

"I'd like to thank Emmanuelle for all her passion and dedication over the past 10 years at ITV. She has been instrumental in helping build the division into a globally recognized player," he added.

Before joining ITV two years ago, Life was head of factual co-productions and then head of programming at Channel 4 Interactive, and earlier was a producer with factual indie Wall to Wall Television.
