The Amazing Race

Pro: Since the award's inception six years ago, no other show has won it.
Con: Enough already! "Race" is great, but voters might finally branch out.

American Idol
Fox (FremantleMedia North America and 19 Television)
Pro: America's highest-rated show is also one of its best-produced.
Con: Has won only two Emmys in 34 noms; ratings dipped a bit this season.

Dancing With the Stars
ABC (BBC Worldwide Prods.)
Pro: Most noms of all reality shows (10) for the third year in a row; also the most ever for a reality show in a single year.
Con: Still in the ratings shadow of "Idol."

Project Runway
Bravo (Magical Elves for the Weinstein Co., Full Picture, Heidi Klum Co., Bravo)
Pro: Peabody winner deserves an Emmy after 16 total losses.
Con: Show was off the air for about a year because of litigation over move to Lifetime

Top Chef
Bravo (Magical Elves, Bravo)
Pro: Won editing Emmy last year; five noms this year, including for hosts.
Con: Significantly lower budget than its broadcast network competitors.
