And only one star seemed to be channeling Big Bird.

Red and blue — for a change, you’re banished! Yellow was the big stand out color on the red carpet at the 67th Emmys. Which makes sense, since most other colors have been played out on the often-red red carpet. Of course, there was beaucoup de black — but rare black tie yellow was the winning hue.

Taylor Schilling was quite literally radiant, in a brilliant sunshine-colored Stella McCartney gown. Interesting neckline and ruffled hem aside, it was the hue that drew us in (especially when paired with red lips). Mindy Kaling wore an equally bold shade — hers belted, with fabulously sequined short sleeves.

Orange Is the New Black’s Dascha Polanco didn’t go full yellow, but she did pop out on the red carpet thanks to the bodice of her gown being the night’s "it" color. While she looked gorgeous in turquoise, her costar Laverne Cox also got in on the trend, wearing a manicure in the bright Caption Polish shade Get Happy Fast by Sabella Snyder.

Kiernan Shipka showed the shade can also go a bit softer in her Christian Dior Couture ensemble that was off-the-shoulder, with sheer chiffon detailing that felt romantic and super feminine. Heidi Klum, too, went sheer. But her Versace gown missed the mark a little bit, with frayed bits that felt more inspired by Big Bird than high fashion.
