Emmy Poll: Which Show Should Win Best Comedy Series?

'Silicon Valley,' left, and 'Veep'

While past winners 'Veep' and 'Modern Family' face off to regain the title, Donald Glover's 'Atlanta' nets its first nom in the category.

The competition for best comedy series at the 69th Primetime Emmy Awards will be fierce this year, with reigning two-time winner Veep and five-time champion Modern Family in the lineup of nominees.

HBO hit Silicon Valley rejoins the category, along with ABC's Black-ish scoring its second nomination. In addition, after spending years as a writer on NBC's 30 Rock, Donald Glover is no stranger to working on Emmy Award-winning comedies. This year, his newest series Atlanta earned itself a nomination for its first season on FX.

Once again, Netflix is recognized for Aziz Ansari's Master of None and Tina Fey's Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, with a second and third nomination, respectively.

And although ABC's Modern Family has garnered huge success at the Emmy Awards in the past, critics believe that its eighth nomination in the category won't result in another win.
