Endeavor Content has invested in the newly launched independent production company Third Coast Content, which will focus on faith-based content.

Film exec Ben Howard will serve as CEO of the label, which will be based in Nashville and has plans to pursue both film and television projects, as well as publishing.

“With Third Coast Content we look forward to working with leading artists and brands to bring more stories in the faith and family worlds that move, inspire and entertain audiences,” said Howard, who worked on the faith-based animated film series Veggie Tales and previously served as executive vp of Provident Films.

The faith-based genre has proven successful at the domestic box office, with such releases as Heaven Is for Real and Miracles From Heaven earning $91 million and $62 million, respectively, on low eight-figure budgets.

"Ben has built a tremendous business in the faith and family space, supporting Endeavor Content’s continued mission to invest in content that is underserved,” said Endeavor Content co-presidents Graham Taylor and Chris Rice in a statement.

This is the latest investing news from Endeavor Content, the combined financing and sales efforts of WME and IMG, which recently announced that they would be the lead investor in The Hangover producer Scott Budnick's Good Films.
