Endemol Shine Names U.K. Top Executives
Endemol UK's Lucas Church becomes chairman, Richard Johnston CEO of the British unit, while Shine COO Tim Robinson will step down.
Endemol Shine Group, the new TV giant that combines Endemol, Shine Group and Core Media, on Thursday made latest senior executive appointments, setting up its U.K. leadership team.
Former Shine Group COO Tim Robinson will step down in the spring. The company also appointed former Endemol U.K. CEO Lucas Church to the role of chairman of Endemol Shine U.K., with former Endemol U.K. COO Richard Johnston becoming CEO of Endemol Shine U.K.
Church also takes on the role of chairman, group commercial board at Endemol Shine Group. In that role, he will globally coordinate and initiate commercial business in areas including digital video, gaming, apps and brand relations.
Working with Church, Johnston will oversee and support Endemol Shine U.K.’s companies and labels, including Artists Studio, Brown Eyed Boy, DSP, Dragonfly, Fifty Fathoms, House of Tomorrow, Initial, Kudos, Lovely Day, Princess Productions, Remarkable Television, Shine North, Shine Soho, Shine TV, Tiger Aspect, Tigress and Zeppotron. Their hit shows include Big Brother, Broadchurch, Deal or No Deal, Masterchef, Mr. Bean, One Born Every Minute, Peaky Blinders and The Million Pound Drop.
Endemol Shine was created in a joint venture deal between Rupert Murdoch's 21st Century Fox and private equity firm Apollo Global Management.
"Lucas and Richard have both played a central role in driving the expansion of Endemol’s traditional television business, as well as innovating into new areas like online digital video," said Tim Hincks, president of Endemol Shine Group, who continues to have oversight of the U.K. operations of the combined company. "They are ideally suited to help grow the new group’s wide-ranging U.K. operations and international commercial initiatives."
